BEAUTY OF DISCIPLINARY ORDER

Suzhou Centre Office
Suzhou, 2022
Interior Design

Our office project resides on the 23rd floor of Suzhou Center Building C within the scenic Suzhou Industrial Park. With its panoramic vista overlooking the iconic Jinji Lake, a symbol of Suzhou’s allure, our location offers a distinctive arrival experience. Inspired by the CBD’s dynamic energy and the serene beauty of the surroundings, our design aims to cultivate a tranquil work environment. By integrating elements from the natural landscape, we imbue the space with a sense of peace. To underscore the significance of Jinji Lake, water serves as a recurring motif, weaving a compelling visual narrative throughout the project.

At the heart of this project lies the art of balancing freedom and efficiency. Thirty-two open workstations are thoughtfully arranged at the core of the space, surrounded by meeting rooms, a learning centre, an open discussion area, and managerial offices. This meticulous layout fosters an environment conducive to productivity while ensuring accessibility to essential facilities. Moreover, it allows every employee to bask in the splendour of the surrounding scenery, enhancing both work satisfaction and inspiration.

Drawing inspiration from Theo Van Doesburg’s abstract painting, we propose a vibrant colour palette comprising indigo blue, saffron yellow, and dark orange, juxtaposed against natural white walls and wooden veneers. This harmonious blend of colours not only accentuates the distinct functions of various spaces but also adds a dynamic visual dimension to the environment.

Each material selected for this project possesses unique characteristics, enriching the overall sensory experience of the space. As Louis Kahn eloquently stated, ‘Form emerges from wonder, and wonder arises from our tactile connection to our origins.’ There’s a profound sense that nature encapsulates its own narrative within its creations, preserving the essence of its crafting process. By embracing this intrinsic connection, we invite a sense of wonder into the very fabric of our design.
